#EHEIM 2260 NOISE LEVEL PRO#
Im tempted to get a Pro 3 for my 1000lt tank but not sure on how well it would work. Is this normal These filters are supposed to be quiet. if the fluval fx5 is around $300 mark, i would go for 2 of these fx5 then one 2260. This is my brand new EHEIM 2213 and that is the horrible sound it makes. i dont know if its just my luck hearing a couple of good made ones or if the filter is actually that good.

I have seen a couple of fluval fx5 running and i couldnt hear any noise, it was dead silent. i noticed if i turn my 2260 off for a couple of weeks the water quality becomes like the sewer! but when its working it cleans the water up, therefore i know it works well. i do use another 403fluval and also 2 other internal filters.
#EHEIM 2260 NOISE LEVEL FULL#
Im using a 2260 for my fully planted 500lt tank and IMO it is by far the most efficient filter I have ever used out of all the fluvals range, cheapies brand, resun, otto, and a few i cant remember.ġ)in terms of having to clean the filter I found that i only need to clean it once every half year, but when i do clean it, inside is full of those black gunk!i stock my tank heavily with discus and other tropicals. Both are similar value for money and will last many, many years, it comes down to your needs. Overall value for money - if 2260 was $500 and Pro 3 is $600, there is not much in it IMO. Intel® 12th Gen processors support PCIe 5.0 x4 mode. Intel® 12th Gen processors support PCIe 4.0 x4 mode. Personally, I think the Pro 3 rocks, but then I am a planted tank freak. Supports 5 x M.2 slots and 6 x SATA 6Gb/s ports. Suggest that if you really need the grunt (ie, high water flow) and don't mind paying an extra $35 per year in electricity, then go the 2260. The Pro 3 is alot more user friendly, both to set up and in use. 2260 have quite a bit more grunt than Pro 3, but Eheim have proved that their filters with less grunt are substantially more effective than their cometitors. Pro 3 will fit 12 litres + 1.5 litres for 2 sponges (supplied). At 1 metre 19 db for Pro 3 vs 43 db for the FX5.Įffectiveness - 2260 is overall larger than pro 3 and will fit 22 litres of media. The Pro 3 may well be the most quiet filter in the filter in the world right now. A recent test saw the Pro 3 to actually be substantially more quiet than the Fluval FX5. Noise -both are extremely quiet, so this is a negligible variable to consider. From a physics point of view, the pressure at the pump would be the same if. Although the initial outlay is much higher, you wil save money every year on electricity, and your investment will pay for itself in the long run. The canister would be a standard aquarium caister (Eheim 2260) with a built. IMO, you get value for money with Eheims because they are the only filters built to last 15-20 years. I always thought you were against Eheims as they do not reperesent value for money ? I guess prices have thankfully gone down this year, so looks like your stance on Eheims has changed. I suggest you should be able to get the 2260 for around $500 and Pro 3 around $600.

Steve, depends on what price you are getting it for.
